Bio
Rebecca Clark teaches introductory and advanced digital and darkroom photography courses at CCRI. She believes the study of photography develops essential critical thinking skills and visual literacy. While knowledge of digital photography and image editing is essential, Rebecca thinks the ability to make a unique hand crafted photographic image in the darkroom to be a valuable part of a photographic education.
Rebecca's photographic practice has always involved some form of alternative process or manipulation of media. Her recent work merges appropriated and original imagery into surrealistic photomontages that explore the shifting nature of memory and how interpretation of information is altered by context and time. Her work has been exhibited in group and solo shows in museums and galleries throughout the country and abroad. Rebecca studied art history at Oberlin College where she earned her BA and holds a MFA in photography from the Rhode Island School of Design.
