Check Your Status
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must:
- Be a Rhode Island resident and graduate from high school (public, private, or homeschooled) or earn a GED®.
- Be 18 years old or younger (students who are 19, 20, or 21 in the year they graduate will submit an appeal).
- Attend CCRI in an associate degree program.
- Complete the 2026/2027 FAFSA.
- Enroll in the term immediately following high school graduation or GED® completion. (See RI Promise FAQs for additional information).
- Enroll in a minimum of 6 or more credits in each of the Fall and Spring semesters (30 credits achieved in the first year is strongly recommended).
- Submit your official, final high school or GED transcript.
- Maintain at least a 2.5 GPA.
- Earn at least 24 credits in the first year (30 credits strongly recommended).
- Enroll each semester for two years. (12 credits recommended)
- Stay on track to graduate in two years.
