Rhode Island Promise
Get a free college education at the Community College of Rhode Island! Enroll at CCRI in fall 2025 and become a Rhode Island Promise Scholar. CCRI, already one of the most affordable colleges in New England is now free to all Rhode Islanders coming right out of high school. Apply today to pursue your associate degrees at CCRI tuition-free!


To be eligible for the scholarship, students must:
- Be a Rhode Island resident and graduate from high school (public, private, or homeschooled) or earn a GED®.
- Be 18 years old or younger (students who are 19, 20, or 21 in the year they graduate will submit an appeal).
- Enroll in the term immediately following high school graduation or GED® completion.
- Attend CCRI in an associate degree program.

- Apply to CCRI today.

Starting in January 2025, complete the 25-26 FAFSA and other required financial aid forms as indicated in your MyCCRI.
- Submit your official, final high school or GED transcript.

- Maintain at least a 2.5 GPA.
- Earn at least 24 credits in the first year (30 credits strongly recommended).
- Enroll each semester for two years. A minimum of 9 credits in fall and spring are strongly recommended.
- Stay on track to graduate in two years.
