2023 Summer Intensive Institute for General Education

This Summer Intensive consisted of 28 full- and part-time faculty who met 4 times to improve general education. The faculty were divided into 8 groups, corresponding to the 8 Skill Categories of the Educated Person.

Meeting 1: This meeting entailed reviewing the learning outcomes for each of the 8 Skill Categories, identifying areas for strengthening clarity and focus, and recommending language to describe competent, emergent, and beginning work.

Meeting 2: The second meeting focused on assignment revisions incorporating the TILT framework to improve student satisfaction and success.

Meeting 3: Groups met remotely to create a final presentation focused on either rubric or assignment revisions.

Meeting 4: Group presentations allowed for additional discussion of current work and next steps in improving general education outcomes at CCRI.
