Story Timeline

As VPAA, Dr. Marianne Raimondo works closely with academic deans, administrators,
and faculty on educational programs, academic excellence and innovation, and furthering
the institution’s strategic plan, academic master plan, goals, and mission.
Dr. Raimondo has more than a decade of experience as a results driven leader in higher
education. She previously served as Dean of the School of Business at Rhode Island
College, where she led major efforts to modernize curricula, expand experiential learning,
and cultivate partnerships with the business community that broadened opportunities
for students career success.
Her background spans healthcare management, social services and higher education.
In higher education she has engaged in program development, teaching, advising, and
academic innovation. Dr. Raimondo is a former faculty member; leader of RIC’s Institute
of Cybersecurity and Emerging Technologies; and founder and former director of RIC’s
Institute for Education in Healthcare. She holds a Ph.D. in Health Policy and Management
and a Master of Science in Public Health from UMass Amherst, a Master of Social Work
