Introduction to the Cannabis Industry
Students in this program will learn about the variety of jobs and skills required in the legal cannabis industry. Topics include an overview and history of the cannabis industry, cultivation and plant structure, extraction methodologies, dispensary operations, and compliance with the applicable regulations. Students will also receive resume and interview preparation support. Students will have opportunities for Q&A with employers in cannabis, and the course has been developed by Melissa Rutherford, Certified Commercial Cannabis Expert, and Jacob Carlson, Co-Founder of EZHire Cannabis.
This program does not support applications for dispensary licenses.
Program Dates: July 9 - August 29, 2024, Tuesdays/Thursdays 6-9 pm. Hybrid, classes on the Liston campus in Providence and online.
The first class on July 9 and all Thursday classes will be in person.
GED or high school diploma is required. Must be a Rhode Island resident. Must be over the age of 21.
