  • attend all Staff Assembly 90-minute monthly meetings (and special meetings as needed)
  • serve as a member on at least one of the Assembly’s six standing committees

How long is the representative term of service?

Per Assembly's Constitution and By-Laws, Staff Assembly Representatives will be elected for two-year terms. Staff Assembly membership will start on September 1st of the appointed term.

How much time am I expected to allocate to Assembly work as a representative?

On average, Assembly work and meetings span around approximately 6 hours per month.

  • Do I have to be a full-time CCRI staff to serve on the Assembly?

There are two types of seats on the Staff Assembly:

  • Full-time staff representatives across college divisions are voting members with full-voting rights on both the Assembly as a whole as well as its Standing Committees.
  • Part-time staff representatives (total 6 available vacancies- one per division) may serve as Ex-Officio members on the Assembly and participate in meetings and discussions. These, only have voting rights on the Assembly’s Standing Committees.

Do I need my supervisor’s permission to serve on the Assembly?

To ensure that staff serving on the Assembly have the time to honor their commitment, we encourage interested staff to have a conversation with their supervisors prior to accepting their nomination. We want to ensure that your work on the Assembly is fully supported by your department.
