CCRI Governance Revisions

The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs has assumed the responsibility for gathering the college community’s suggestions and input on how to improve the current CCRI Governance system.

A diversified team of faculty and staff from the following departments / divisions worked to revise the document:

  • Academic Affairs
  • Academic Department Chairpersons
  • Advising & Counseling
  • Athletics
  • Controller's Office
  • CWCE
  • Financial Aid
  • Full -Time and Adjunct Faculty
  • IT
  • Institutional Research
  • Physical Plant
  • Student Success
  • Technical Support
  • Union Representatives

As part of the CCRI NEASC accreditation process, the Vice President’s office has attempted to streamline the existing Governance document to make it more functional.

I feel the input of the CCRI community will be a vital part of the process that we are proposing to implement in September 2013. The approved process will be piloted for one academic year and assessed at the end of that year.

CCRI Governance informational sessions were held on:

  • Monday, April 8: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Knight Campus - President’s conference room
  • Monday, April 8: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Newport County Campus - Room 200
  • Tuesday, April 9 : 9 to 11 a.m., Liston Campus - Room 2222
  • Wednesday, April 10: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Flanagan Campus - Room 2520

I encourage you to review the proposed Governance document and attend one of the sessions where representatives will be available to address your questions and concerns. You are welcome to email your feedback to my office.
