Tutor Job Opportunities
Peer Tutor Job Description
Provide subject specific tutoring to CCRI students. Assist students in academic achievement by meeting them on a regular basis to clarify learning problems and work on study skills. Meet with students on a one-to-one or small-group basis to give learning assistance.
In order to work for any department on campus, students must:
- Register for a minimum of six (6) credits the semesters they work on-campus
- Completed the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
Qualifications to be hired as a Peer Tutor
- Student earned at least a grade “B” in the subject(s) they tutor
- Overall grade point average of 3.0
- Faculty Referral form completed by the teacher or department chairperson
- Good communication skills – able to get along with a wide range of personalities and academic skill levels
- Reliable; this is a job and the tutors need an excellent attendance record
