CCRI names Yang assistant professor of chemistry

Rongfang Yang, Ph.D., of North Providence recently was named assistant professor of chemistry at the Community College of Rhode Island. She previously served in several capacities in the chemistry department at the University of New Hampshire since 2012.

Yang has published several scientific articles with a focus on fluorescent indicators and molecular copolymers. She is the recipient of several honors, include the Denny Chasteen Graduate Fellowship, the Clarence L. and Helen M. Garland Grant Fellowship and the Pratt-Diniak Fellowship, among others.

Yang earned her doctorate in chemistry at the University of New Hampshire and her Bachelor of Science in chemistry at Lanzhou University in Lanzchou, China.
