CCRI hires Khalil as assistant professor of English

Ali Khalil of Lincoln was recently named assistant professor of English at the Community College of Rhode Island.
Khalil served as a full-time English instructor and an academic adviser on the main campus of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and as an adjunct English instructor on the Arkansas State University Mid-South campus in West Memphis.
Khalil is fully fluent in English and Arabic, and he is the current President of the Arkansas Association for Developmental Education.
Khalil earned a bachelor’s degree in the English language and literature from Tishreen University in Lattakia, Syria. He also earned a master’s degree in English and a specialist in educational leadership degree from Arkansas State University.
His research interests include best practices in teaching collegiate writing, literature, and student success and retention.
