CCRI students, faculty nominated for Motif theater awards

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead.

Frank Gilleese and Katie Russell both were nominated for Motif theater awards for their roles in "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead." The production also garnered nominations for costume design, director and production of the year.

Several CCRI students and faculty members were nominated for Motif's 2018 Rhode Island Theater Awards. They are:

  • Set design: Associate Professor Luke Sutherland for “Art”

  • Costume design: Assistant Professor Marilyn Salvatore for “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead”

  • Male performer: Derek Smith for “Hamlet” and Frank Gilleese for “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead”

  • Female performer: Katie Russell for “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead”

  • Choreography: Denise Lachowski for “Zanna, Don’t”

  • Director: Associate Professor Ted Clement for “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead”

  • Production of the year: “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead”

 You can vote online through Saturday, Aug. 4. Winners will be announced on Aug. 12 at an event open to the public that will include comedy and performances at McVinney Auditorium in Providence.
