What do I need to complete my FAFSA?

All FAFSA Applicants Will Need the Following:

  • FSA ID* (Create or verify your FSA ID here)
    • Social Security Number
    • Email address
  • Your 2023 & 2024 Federal Income Tax Return (including schedules)
  • Your 2023 & 2024 W2’s, 1099’s or form Schedule C
  • Amounts of any additional income you received such as alimony, child
    support, social security, workman’s comp
  • If you are an Eligible non-citizen (Permanent resident, Asylee,
    Refugee)
    –you will need your permanent resident number and card

Dependent Students Will Need the Following:

If you are under 24, unmarried and have no legal dependents you will also need the following information for your parents* in addition to the information above:

  • At least one parent needs to create an FSA ID here
  • Parent(s) 2023 & 2024 Federal Income Tax Return (including schedules)
  • Parent(s) 2023 & 2024 W2’s, 1099’s or form Schedule C
  • Parent(s) Social Security Number, date of birth, marital status and date
  • Amounts of any additional income parent(s) received such as alimony, child
    support, social security, workman’s comp

* If your parents are separated or divorced, you will need the information from the parent that provided primary support and custody.

Note: The FSA ID (Federal Student Aid Identification) is required for each student and when applicable one parent. You can verify, update, or create your FSA ID at this website. Please note that students and parents must use different IDs.
