"Campus Security Authority" Crime Reporting

According to the Higher Education Act, or 20 USC § 1092(f), now known as the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the Community College of Rhode Island must collect certain campus crime statistics required to be annually published in an Annual Security Report each Fall and made available to the campus community. This law applies to certain crimes reported to the police and other campus officials including Campus Security Authorities (CSAs).

One purpose of the Clery Act is to encourage the reporting and collection of accurate campus crime statistics to promote crime awareness and enhance campus safety. Secondly, if need arises, the Campus Police can issue timely warnings.
