Refresh LPN

Ready to return to nursing? CCRI’s LPN Refresher Course is designed to strengthen the Rhode Island nursing workforce by building your confidence and update your clinical skills so you can get back to doing what you love – caring for patients.

Program Start Date

Rolling enrollment beginning May 4, 2026!

  • Hybrid
  • Online Asynchronous Modules (completed at the learner’s own pace)
  • In-Person Clinical, CCRI Knight Campus, Warwick
    • Date To Be Determined
    • On-campus clinicals will be held at least twice per year. All online modules must be completed prior to registering for the in-person clinical. 
  • Optional virtual Boost Sessions will be held each week, where learners can ask questions, connect with course faculty and facilitators, and meet peers. Boost sessions will be recorded and posted for learners to view on their own if they are unable to join the virtual session. 

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of a Licensed Practical Nursing or Licensed Vocational Nursing program, and must have passed the NCLEX-PN exam.
  • Must have access to a computer with internet for the asynchronous self-paced modules, and must be able to attend one week of on-campus clinical to successfully complete the course.
  • All self-paced modules must be completed within six months of starting.
  • Plan to work in the state of Rhode Island

No charge for those who qualify. CNE contact hours awarded.

Time Commitment

  • Approximately 50 hours of self-paced learning broken up over 12 modules.
  • Five 6-hour in-person clinical days.
