Promise Plus

Students who qualify for the Rhode Island Promise Plus program at CCRI receive support and additional scholarship money for books, transportation or other expenses. Read more about the generous gift that makes Rhode Island Plus possible.

Promise Plus students have an assigned Promise Plus advisor to support you through your CCRI experience. You will also have the opportunity to earn up to $500 for completing certain student success milestones this academic year. Each time you complete a milestone by the deadline, you will earn $100.

The five student success milestones and deadlines are as follows.

  1. Online orientation – Complete both online orientation modules by October 13th:
    • New Student Orientation (http://www.ccri.edu/orientation/)
    • First Semester Success (http://www.ccri.edu/orientation/success/)
  2. Fall advising meetings – Meet with your Promise Plus advisor twice this fall. The first meeting must take place no later than October 31st and the second meeting no later than December 15th.
  3. An educational plan and registration for spring classes – Complete a documented educational plan with your Promise Plus advisor and register for 15-credits for the Spring 2018 semester by November 27th.
  4. Spring advising meetings – Meet with your Promise Plus advisor twice in the spring of 2018. The first meeting must take place no later than March 30th and the second meeting no later than May 4th.
  5. An updated educational plan and registration for fall classes – Update your documented educational plan with your Promise Plus advisor and register for 15-credits for the Fall 2018 semester by April 30th.

You may have already heard from your assigned advisor, but if not, your assigned Promise Plus advisor will reach out soon to set up your first advising appointment. In the meantime, if you have questions, feel free to contact your assigned advisor based on the campus where you are taking the majority of your classes.
