RI Promise LOA Request or Deferred Start Request
Under certain extenuating circumstances, Rhode Island Promise students may request
an approved leave of absence or deferred start to extend eligibility. Extenuating
circumstances may include documented medical emergency; documented postsecondary education record; documented personal emergency; or documented military deployment. Supporting documentation is a requirement of this process.
As soon as possible after learning of the disruption to their educational plan, these
scholarship students should complete the Request Form below and email [email protected] (1) the form, (2) a letter of explanation, and (3) copies of official third party
documentation that supports your letter of explanation. Attach all documentation as
a PDF or JPEG file.
