Math 8825C: Support Introduction to College Mathematics

1 remediation (in-house) credits with a Pass/Fail grade scheme
Prerequisites
Math 0099 with a grade of C or better and concurrent enrollment in the Math 0825Ccourse with the same section number.
Course Description
This course provides active support for students taking Math 8025C through the use
of a just in time remediation approach. Students in this class will also be taking
Math 8025C with the same instructor concurrently. The additional one hour per week
allows for time to practice what has been learned in Math 8025C and it allows for
more question and answer sessions. Instructors may use the class time for supplementary
instruction, group work or one on one support.

Make the transition from developmental mathematics to Math 1025/8025C
Reach a level of mathematical maturity necessary for success in Math 1025/8025C
Learning Outcomes
The learning outcomes for this course are identical to those of Math 1025/8025C.
The purpose of this class is to allow students who might otherwise not be eligible
to take Math 1025 to complete the course with added support. Students in this class
will take Math 8025C for three hours per week in addition to attending this class
for one hour per week. Instructors will use the additional time to provide supplemental
instruction, review difficult concepts, help students with homework and answer student
questions.
