The CCRI Writing Center’s free services include appointments and walk-in help for such tasks as prewriting, organizing, drafting, revising, and editing different kinds of papers and writing-based assignments for any CCRI course.

In-person Tutoring

In-person tutoring is available by appointment or via walk-in (availability pending) at the Warwick, Lincoln, Providence, and Newport campuses. If you have trouble making an appointment through Starfish, or if it shows no available appointments, please email [email protected].

  • Knight Campus, room 3540 (Warwick), located downstairs from the Library in the Tutoring Center
    • Hours: Monday and Tuesday: 8am - 6pm; Wednesday through Friday: 8am - 4pm
  • Flanagan Campus, room 2427 (Lincoln)
    • Hours: Monday, Wednesday through Friday: 8am - 4pm; Tuesdays: 10am - 6pm
  • Liston Campus, room 1164A (Providence)
    • Hours: Currently by appointment only.
  • Newport Campus, rooms 251 and 252 (in Library)
    • Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8am - 4pm; Wednesday: 8am - 8pm

Online Tutoring

If you can't make it into one of our writing centers, we can help you online! Using the Zoom platform, we can connect and work with you on your papers. Online appointments are available during all regular hours.

Writing Center Job Opportunities

Paid peer tutor positions may be available in the CCRI Writing Centers. Helping other students to improve their writing is one of the best ways to enhance one's own communication and collaborative skills, both of which are needed to be successful in college courses, in a career, and in our daily interactions with others. Plus, tutoring positions look great on your resume! 

Peer Tutor Positions

These paid peer tutoring positions are a great way to help other students, as well as to enhance one's own skills. Potential peer tutors need to have completed Composition I with a grade of "B" or higher and have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
