Overtime

Generally speaking, overtime is the required performance of work in excess of the established workweek.  Except in an emergency, all overtime must be authorized in advance by the department chair/director and the appropriate Vice President.  Overtime compensation is paid to employees in accordance with federal and state wage and hour laws.  Employees should refer to their collective bargaining agreement for other compensation provisions regarding work in excess of the established workweek.
