About

The CCRI Foundation  was established in 1979, and for over 40 years has been vital to helping CCRI students achieve their academic and professional goals through scholarships, book awards, and emergency funding. Today, philanthropic partners are critical to the growing community that make up 20,000 enrolled students and more than 80,000 alumni.

The mission of the CCRI Foundation is to secure philanthropic support for the Community College of Rhode Island through dynamic campaigns and public awareness of the College’s value to the community.

The Community College of Rhode Island Foundation Board of Trustees and Alumni Association Assembly (CCRI Foundation) was the first community college foundation to be awarded the John W. Nason Award for Board Leadership in 2022 by the national Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges (AGB), the premier organization representing higher education governing boards. The Nason Award, established in 1992, is presented in partnership with TIAA to higher education governing boards that demonstrate exceptional leadership and initiative.
