Steven D. Murray

Professor Murray is a magna cum laude graduate of Boston College (class of 1982) and Boston College Law School (class of 1985). Professor Murray began his legal career in RI as a civil litigator at Roberts, Carroll, Feldstein and Tucker. He then was a criminal prosecutor/Assistant Attorney General at the RI Department of Attorney General, where he prosecuted serious felony violent crime cases and was a member of the Public Corruption unit. He has also had a private law practice where he practices both civil and criminal litigation. He has taught as an adjunct faculty member at Johnson & Wales University and the Community College of Rhode Island.

In 1993, he began his full time career on the faculty at CCRI. Professor Murray primarily teaches Criminal Justice courses in the Law Enforcement and Paralegal programs. He was elected as Department Chair in 2012 and President of the CCRI Faculty Union in 2016.
