Getting Started with DAS
The Disability Accessibility for Students (DAS) Office at the Community College of
Rhode Island is the College’s designated agent for determining eligibility, facilitating
access, and coordinating accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities.
Students requesting adjustments, accommodations, or services related to a disability
should register with the DAS Office to determine eligibility.
Please check your CCRI email for communication from our office. We do not correspond
with personal email accounts.
To request accommodations for the first time at CCRI, follow the DAS Registration Process below:
- Submit a New Student Application for Accommodations
- Submit Supporting Documentation
Relevant and current documentation from a qualified professional is required to establish
a non-obvious disability and disability-related need for accommodations. Review our Documentation Guidelines for assistance.
- Schedule an Intake Appointment
Once your documentation has been received, a DAS coordinator will email you to schedule
an intake appointment. During your appointment, your eligibility for accommodations
will be determined based on the information provided. If eligible, we will work collaboratively
to develop an appropriate accommodation plan based on your self-report and the documentation
you submitted.
IMPORTANT: All three steps must be completed before a student can be eligible to receive
accommodations. Submitting documentation to the institution alone is not sufficient.
