Emailing

If you put my.ccri.edu, you will be sending an email to a student at CCRI instead of to me. Whenever you email either of us about this event, you must have NCL-Spring-2026 in the subject. If you do not do this, I may not respond within 24 hours.

Cyber Saturday Description

The Cyber Saturday weekly event is scheduled to provide students with the opportunity to learn, network, practice, and compete in cyber-related challenges using CCRI advanced range systems. The coaches are available to mentor and assist students in both specific topics identified in the schedule and non-specific topics for introduction to advanced students in an ungraded environment. The focus of the Spring Semester is the National Cyber League Ethical Hacking competition, which uses a Capture the Flag format to find solutions. Those not yet on the copetition teams will be trained using online tools, especially the pwn.college learning platform. Attendance is voluntary.

Course delivery mode

The format is essentially in person, but online capabilities can be used to accommodate special circumstances. Computers are available, bringing your own is highly recommended.

Course expectations

Students are to follow the rules as stated in the Student Handbook.

Learning Outcomes

Depending on their experience level, students will use the Cyber Skyline NCL Gymnasium to learn specific ethical hacking techniques. Introductory students will benefit from networking with the more advanced students and from online and coach-presented topics. They will also compete in three events.

• Practice Team Competition
• Individual Competition
• Team Competition

Required Textbook and Materials

None are required to participate. The coaches will coordinate registration and enrollment, and students will be registered to compete with the NCL online for CCRI. High School teams will be handled separately. Participants will be assigned a coach to assist in completing objectives and interpreting their scores and assessment data.

Registration is open from January 26 to March 28.
Late registration will be considered, but not expected in Spring 2026.
There is a plan to pay for all students using school resources. Talk to a coach.

Conduct and Cheating

The meetings are modeled to represent a future or potential job environment. Inappropriate behavior may result in a student's removal from Cyber Saturday Events and NCL Competition. The competition is closely monitored, and cheating will results in team's disqualification, removal from the competition, and the loss of the competition score. Individuals should only collaborate and share their Flags within the team. As a rule, absolutely no sharing of competition information can be shared across teams or individuals. Sportsmanship and respect shall be observed, or students may be removed from Cyber Saturdays.
