Emailing: If you put my.ccri.edu, you will be sending an email to a student at CCRI instead of to me. Whenever you email either of us about this event, you must have Fall 2025 NCL in the subject. If you do not do this, I may not respond within 24 hours.

Cyber Saturday offers students a chance to learn, network, practice, and compete in cyber challenges using CCRI classrooms and range systems. Coaches mentor students on scheduled topics and basic lessons for advanced students in an ungraded setting. This Fall, the focus is on the National Cyber League Ethical Hacking Capture the Flag competition. Attendance is voluntary.

Course delivery mode: The format is primarily in person, but online options may be available to accommodate special circumstances. This semester, we are creating a Student Guide to complement the Gymnasium section, which students can use to take notes for the Competitions.

Course expectations: Students are to follow the rules as stated in the Student Handbook and the Rules of Conduct for NCL (http://www.ccri.edu/advising/student_services/handbook.html) and (https://national-cyber- league.super.site/competition/rules).

Learning Outcomes: Depending on their experience level, students will use the Cyber Skyline NCL Gymnasium (Aug. 18 - Dec. 12) to serve as a practice environment with guides from past challenges to help players prepare for the competition. Introductory students will benefit from networking with the more advanced students and from online and coach-presented topics. They will also compete in three events.

Practice Game - Oct. 13 – 19 - A week-long event that gives practice solving challenges without guides.
Individual Competition - Oct. 24 – 26 -A weekend-long competitive event where individual players will attempt to solve as many challenges as they can.
Team Competition - Nov. 7 – 9 - A weekend-long competitive event. Players will compete in teams of up to 7 and work to solve as many challenges as they can. You can also participate as a team of 1 if you would like to compete solo.

No textbooks or materials are required to participate. Students must register online to compete in the NCL and will be assigned a coach to help with objectives and interpreting scores and data.

Registration is open from August 18 - October 10 and costs $45 to participate.
Late registration is October 11 - 14 with a cost increase to $55.
There is a plan to pay for all students using school resources, so talk to a coach.

Conduct and Cheating: Meetings simulate future or job environments. Inappropriate behavior may lead to removal from Cyber Saturday Events and NCL Competition. The competition is closely monitored; cheating results in team disqualification, removal, and score elimination. Students should only share Flags within their team and never share information across teams or with others. Respect and sportsmanship are required; violations can lead to removal from Cyber Saturdays.
