The ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house celebration for the Community College of
Rhode Island’s new Clinical Simulation Laboratory was held on Thursday, Dec. 1, at
the Flanagan Campus in Lincoln.
This high-fidelity, multidisciplinary simulation laboratory provides students in Health
Sciences with a controlled environment to develop their skills and rehearse treatment
of complex situations.
Computerized patient simulation mannequins can replicate a wide range of conditions
and represent all phases of life, including childhood, maternity and gerontology.
The laboratory was funded through a $324,180 grant from the Champlin Foundations and
is outfitted with two simulation rooms, a control center and two meeting spaces for
debriefing.
