The Early Childhood Education Anchor is a five-cohort initiative designed to support Early Childhood Education bilingual Teacher Assistants in Providence Public Schools as they take the next step in their careers - at no cost to participants.

Providence Public Schools serve a diverse student population, with approximately 40% of students identified as multilingual learners, many of whom speak Spanish at home. This program is designed to support bilingual Teacher Assistants currently working in Providence schools by offering up to 24 credits toward an Early Childhood Education certificate, placing them on a pathway to continue into the Associate of Arts degree program in Early Childhood Education.

Participants in the Program Receive:

  • Bilingual instruction (English/Spanish)
  • Tutoring and academic mentoring
  • Evening and weekend hybrid classes
  • Technology support
  • Classroom-based field experience
  • Personalized advising and wraparound support
  • An Early Childhood Education certificate
  • Up to 24 credits toward the CCRI Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education
