WARWICK, R.I. – The Community College of Rhode Island Players’ 2025-26 season begins this week.
From Thursday through Sunday, the program will conduct five performances of “God of
Carnage”, a play originally written by French playwright Yasmina Reza and translated
by Christopher Hampton. Performances are set for Oct. 2, 3 and 4 at 7:30 p.m. ET,
and Oct. 4 and 5 at 2 p.m.
The play will be held at the Bobby Hackett Theater on CCRI’s Knight Campus in Warwick,
R.I. Tickets are available online and priced at $5 for CCRI students; $10 for seniors, college students and CCRI employees;
and $20 for general admission.

A winner of the Tony Award for Best Play, “God of Carnage” features themes of marriage
complexity, social etiquette, power dynamics, and primal human instincts.
“The audience can expect to look into a mirror to human nature – and to laugh and
cringe simultaneously,” said CCRI professor Luke Sutherland, who’ll direct the play.
“It examines our efforts to be civilized, but deep down, a tribal savage broils underneath
a thin veneer of polite manners.
“We, the CCRI Players, are excited to perform this play because of the difficult times
we are living in presently, with this play offering us the opportunity to laugh at
ourselves.”
Here’s the full cast list:
- Sophie Bryant, playing Annette Raleigh (Smithfield, R.I.)
- Zachary Manders, playing Alan Raleigh (Cranston, R.I.)
- Gabriella Seal, playing Veronica Novak (Cranston, R.I.)
