CCRI Foundation Announces New Board Members, Leadership Transitions

WARWICK, R.I. – The Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) Foundation has announced several key leadership transitions, including the appointment of Frederick J. Metters as the new President of the Foundation Board of Trustees, along with the welcoming of new Board members. Additionally, the CCRI Alumni Assembly has announced a new member.

These appointments recognize the significant professional achievements and dedicated service of community leaders, alumni, and industry executives who will help guide the college’s mission to support CCRI students and strategic initiatives.

CCRI Foundation:

  • Frederick J. Metters will assume the role of President of the CCRI Foundation Board of Trustees. Metters, Vice President of Rhode Island Regional Public Affairs and Government Relations at Fidelity Investments, most recently served as Chair of the Foundation’s Governance Committee.

New CCRI Foundation Members:

  • Jennifer Reagan serves as Vice President of Talent, Learning and Development at Bally's Corporation, overseeing leadership, candidate experience, and employer brand. As a Rhode Island native and enterprise leader, she brings strategic workforce expertise and a commitment to removing educational barriers for all students.
  • Michael F. Sabitoni ’88 is the General Secretary-Treasurer of LIUNA (spell out), representing a long career of expanding union membership and advocating for working families. He is a CCRI alumnus and actively serves as President of the Rhode Island Building and Construction Trades Council.
  • William Schmiedeknecht ’90 serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Brown Health. A CCRI alumnus, he brings extensive collaborative leadership experience and currently co-chairs the Workforce Advisory Committee on the Governor’s Workforce Board.

CCRI Alumni Association Incoming Member:

  • Mileiry De La Cruz ’18 is the Assistant Director of Professional and Executive Business Education at the University of Rhode Island. A CCRI alumna, her dedication to higher education and student success has been recognized with multiple emerging leader awards across New England.
