Knights earn No. 7 seed in upcoming NJCAA Tournament

The Community College of Rhode Island women’s soccer team has earned the No. 7 seed in the upcoming NJCAA Division III National Championships and begins its quest Tuesday, November 7 at 4 pm in a quarterfinal showdown Dallas College Brookhaven, the No. 2 seed and defending two-time national champion.

The Knights (10-3) punched their ticket to the Nationals for the first time since 2009 by winning the Region XXI Tournament this past weekend. They are one of eight schools to qualify for the Nationals, which run from November 7–12 at Caromont Health Park in Gastonia, NC.

The Dallas Brookhaven Bears enter the NJCAAs at 12-2-1 overall and have won eight in a row with five of those wins by shutout. They are attempting to win their third consecutive national title and fifth overall. CCRI enters the tournament equally hot having won four in a row and six of its last seven. The Knights breezed through the Region XXI Tournament and have outscored their last four opponents by a 23-2 margin.
