The Community College of Rhode Island women’s basketball team set a new school record Wednesday in its 115-14 victory over Bristol Community College at the Warwick Field House.

The 115 points scored by the Knights broke the previous single-game record of 114 set in 2013. CCRI has won eight in a row as it also chases the school record for most consecutive wins, set by the 2004–05 with 14. The No. 4 nationally-ranked Knights are now 12-1 and 5-0 in Region XXI play heading into Thursday’s home game against Massasoit Community College.

Seven Knights reached double figures in scoring in Wednesday’s win, led by sophomore guard Andrea Gabriel (North Kingstown, RI) with a game-high 21 points on 9-of-11 shooting. Four Knights also finished with double-doubles: Sophomore forward Ashley Lima (Providence, RI) with 11 points and 10 rebounds; sophomore center Maggie Schwab (Narragansett, RI) with 14 points and 10 rebounds; sophomore guard Michelle Moreno (Providence, RI) with 18 points and 10 rebounds; and freshman guard Alyssia O’Hagan (Woonsocket, RI) with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman guard Mackenzie Mahar (Wakefield, RI) connected on 3-of-4 from three-point range and finished with 13 points and freshman guard Nysia Ortiz (Providence, RI) added 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting.

The Knights, who entered this week ranked second in the nation in field-goal percentage, shot a blistering 72 percent from the field against Bristol, including 57 percent from three-point range, and finished with 64 total rebounds.
