Joseph H. Parys

Joseph H. Parys is a Professor in The Criminal Justice and Legal Studies Department of The Community College of Rhode Island teaching business law, paralegal and law enforcement courses.  He has taught at the college full time since 1979 and teaches primarily at the Knight campus in Warwick, Rhode Island.  He engaged in the private practice of law full time from 1974-1979 in Providence, Rhode Island. He continued in the private practice as a lawyer on a limited basis to compliment his teaching until 2003.

            Professor Parys received his Juris Doctor Degree from New England School of Law in 1974.  He was admitted to law practice in Rhode Island in October 1974.  Prior to law school, he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1971 from Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island, where he majored in history.  Professor Parys has received numerous fellowships from a number of colleges, sabbaticals from CCRI and attended numerous legal and educational conferences over the years to stay current in both education and the law.
