In the interest of creating a memorable and respectful Commencement Ceremony, CCRI
asks that graduates follow these guidelines:
Be respectful to your fellow graduates and stay for the entire ceremony. At the end
of the ceremony, you will formally confer your degree and are welcomed into the Alumni
community - don't miss this moment! We want everyone to cheer on every last graduate!
Possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages, marijuana, or other substances is
strictly prohibited during the Commencement Ceremonies. We appreciate your cooperation.
Business casual clothing are suitable to wear under your gown to honor this special
occasion. You may want to consider comfortable shoes as you will be walking and standing
for a considerable about of time.
The gown should be worn fully closed with the zipper in front. For your cap, the inside
of the crown of the cap usually has a mark indicating which point is the front of
the cap. That point should face forward when the cap is worn. The tassel is worn on
the right until the degree has been conferred, at which time it is flipped to the
left side. We encourage graduates to show off their creativity and decorate their
cap!
Or put it on vibrate to be respectful of the speakers and your fellow graduates. Remember,
too, to keep your phone with you at all times. Leaving it on your seat is not advised
as there is a chance you will return to a seat that is different than the one you
had originally.
Only graduates should cross the stage to receive their diploma. Please do not bring
anyone with you to cross the stage; this is your moment. The only exception will
be a Certified Service Animal.
Only Certified Service Animals are permitted in the Amica Mutual Pavilion for Commencement
exercises. Pets and Emotional Support Animals are not allowed. For the safety of all
guests and your pet, please leave your pet at home.
