What's on Your Playlist

Tom Noret RI State Representative, District 25 (Coventry, West Warwick), CCRI Class of '91
Music has always been part of my life — different songs for different seasons, memories tied to certain moments, and playlists that evolve as life does.
If you scroll through my Amazon Music lately, you'll find one station I keep going back to: my Coldplay channel. It mixes their music with artists in a similar lane — anthemic, emotional, great-for-the-car-with-the-windows-down kind of music.
Trying to narrow down a playlist wasn't easy. I'm always listening to music. It motivates me to work harder, faster, longer — and it always lifts my mood. But if you asked what songs are in my rotation right now, here's what I'd queue up.
The Scientist – Coldplay
Classic Coldplay — emotional, reflective, and just an incredible song to listen to
all the way through.
My Universe – Coldplay
Big sound, great energy, and one that always finds its way into my playlist.
All of Me – Coldplay
A song that hits differently every time you hear it. Simple, powerful, and always
worth another listen.
Something Just Like This – Coldplay
An upbeat track that's perfect when you need a little energy boost.
Apologize – OneRepublic
I've always been a big OneRepublic fan, and this one never gets old.
Counting Stars – OneRepublic
Great rhythm, great hook — one of those songs that stays in your head long after it
ends.
I Lived – OneRepublic
A great reminder to make the most of life.
Just the Way You Are – Bruno Mars
Bruno Mars is an incredible artist and entertainer, and this song is timeless.
Closer – The Chainsmokers
I saw The Chainsmokers live with my family, which makes this one even better when
it comes on.
Easy on Me – Adele
Adele just knows how to deliver a powerful ballad.
Determinate – Lemonade Mouth Soundtrack
Pure fun. When I'm with my daughters and this song comes on, we absolutely rock out.
In the Air Tonight – Phil Collins
My all-time favorite old-school track. When that drum break hits... you know it's
coming.
Bonus Tracks
Anything by Dr. Dre. When I was a student at CCRI, I even wrote a paper about Dre for a music elective.
And when my daughters were born? The Sound of Music soundtrack became my go-to for lullabies.
