Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a dynamic force in higher education which increasingly impacts all aspects of our work at CCRI.

To plan the college’s ongoing response to the rise of AI, CCRI has convened an AI Institutional Coordinating Committee (AI ICC) to develop best practices for AI’s college-wide application. The AI ICC is a nine-member, institution-wide coordinating committee.

The AI ICC works to achieve the following goals:

  • Write a set of guiding principles to guide decision-making and AI considerations for the college community in accordance with CCRI’s guiding principles
  • Develop a strategic plan for AI at CCRI that connects to the college’s strategic plan and in consideration of ethical use
  • Connect with OPC, URI, RIC and K-12 partners to form consortium models that will benefit all institutions
  • Remain up-to-date with the dynamic realities of AI and regularly disseminate information about opportunities and resources to the college community
  • Convene and charge ad hoc groups to address specific issues related to AI and monitor their progress
