Give a free class to a friend or family member!
Are you a recent CCRI graduate who knows someone who wants to go to college or come back to college? Pay it forward with a gift that keeps on giving – an education!
Share your Pay It Forward opportunity that you received at Commencement with a friend or family member who has not yet earned a degree. They will be able to start or restart at CCRI with their first class on us!
Were you extended a Pay It Forward opportunity? Lucky you! Here’s what you need to know.
Eligibility
Pay It Forward recipients must:
- Be a Rhode Island resident.
- Not have earned an associate or bachelor’s degree.
- Not currently be enrolled at CCRI or any other college.

100 Pay It Forward scholarships will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. Don’t wait! Apply today!
How to Apply
To benefit from your Pay It Forward opportunity, be one of the first 100 students to complete the following enrollment steps by August 15, 2024.
1. ADMISSION APPLICATION: Submit your application to CCRI for the Fall 2024 semester.
2. FAFSA: Submit your 2024-2025 FAFSA.
3. REGISTER: Register for your free class!
4. PAY IT FORWARD APPLICATION: Complete this short form with your name and the name of the recent college graduate who paid it forward and gave you a free class!
Additional Information
- Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 CCRI graduates will receive a Pay It Forward opportunity for one free Fall 2024 class at CCRI to give to someone they know without a degree.
- This is a “last-dollar” scholarship. It covers any tuition gaps not covered by other federal, state and/or private grants and is awarded after all other financial aid resources have been exhausted.
- Students not meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) will be required to submit a financial aid appeal.
- Funding is limited and will be awarded on a first come first served basis to the people that register and complete all FAFSA requirements by August 15, 2024.
- Students may register for more than one class, but the program will only cover the tuition and fees for one class. Books and course materials are not covered.
