Pathways in Technology (P-TECH)

What is P-TECH?

The P-TECH Program integrates high school, college, and workplace experiences with a focus on science, technology, engineering, and math. In addition to earning a high school diploma, students can graduate from high school with an associate degree from CCRI and work-based experiences in high-growth, high-wage industries. High school students (grades 9 to 12) enroll in CCRI courses, follow a degree pathway, and work towards an associate degree. P-TECH are non-degree students and must apply to CCRI during their senior year of high school if they plan to matriculate following their high school graduation.

P-TECH Students Are Given:

• A CCRI ID Number and a CCRI email.
• A MyCCRI Account.
• Library Access.
• Access to all CCRI Student Services and Resources.
• Personalized advising by their high school P-TECH Director/Coordinator and the CCRI CTE Student Success Coach.

Additional Details

P-TECH students are not required to complete a full CCRI associate degree but are strongly encouraged to work towards completion upon their final semester of high school. Students who do not complete the degree during their time as a high school student are also encouraged to continue their studies at CCRI in the fall following their spring graduation to be eligible for RI Promise. Taking a gap semester or two could make the student ineligible for RI Promise funds.
