Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Faculty Engagement
The Center of Teaching Excellence (CTE) and the Office of DEI and Organizational Development are partnering to launch a faculty engagement initiative focusing on building inclusive excellence at CCRI. The strategy is to build a program that will support faculty in building culturally responsive, inclusive learning environments that serve to close equity gaps of our student and adult learning population. The goal is the ensure all faculty members receive professional development and resources to leverage, to build a common language and shared accountability for achieving equitable learning outcomes.
Next month, we are launching a pilot that will provide an Equity Toolkit to start our journey towards building inclusive excellence within the classrooms. We are looking for (10) faculty volunteers to participate in the self-assessment portion and program build. We want to ensure the resources and tools will maximize our potential for being impactful towards achieving the goals identified within the 2022-2027 Strategic Plan. Details are listed below and will send more information once the cohort is identified.
Faculty Engagement Equity Toolkit Outline:
- Offer skills-based trainings and an integrated approach to enhance DEI pedagogical practices
- Equity Toolkit – Robust 3-part platform of interactive and self-learning activities to drive cultural responsiveness within the classrooms, and close equity gaps of student success.

- Personal Diversity Paradigm (PDP) assessment – understand perspective about diversity
- Implicit Association Test (IAT) – to understand personal biases towards marginalized groups
