Important Rave Information

The Community College of Rhode Island uses a service that delivers text messages and email messages to members of the CCRI community during emergencies and when adverse weather conditions affect normal campus operations.

These text and email alerts are a vital part of college communications. All registered students, faculty and staff are automatically enrolled in the Rave Emergency Alert system. The emergency email will be sent to your CCRI email address and to the personal e-mail address provided in MyCCRI. If have a cellphone number in MyCCRI and it is identified as a mobile number, you will also receive a text message. Messaging and data rates may apply.

Verify, Add, Change or Remove Text Number

To verify, add, change or remove the mobile number for Rave text message alerts, please follow these steps.

  • Log into your MyCCRI account
  • Click on the myInfo tab
  • Click on Update Addresses and Phones
  • Click on Primary or Cellular/Mobile
  • Under Phone Type, verify, add or change your cellular number
  • Click Submit

Verify, Add, Change or Remove Email Address

To verify, add, change or remove the personal email address for Rave email message alerts, please follow these steps.

  • Log in to your MyCCRI account
  • Click on the myInfo tab
  • Click on Update E-Mail Address
  • If you already have a Personal e-mail address listed, you can click on it underneath Personal e-mail address, to change it.
  • If not, you can select Personal e-mail address from the Type of E-mail to Insert drop-down list.
  • Enter or update your personal e-mail address
  • Click Submit

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I register for Rave Emergency Alerts if I am not a CCRI student, staff, or faculty member?

No. Currently, Rave is only available to CCRI faculty, staff and registered students.

Will my information be shared with third parties?

No. Your email address and cell phone number will not be provided to organizations outside of CCRI.

Can I opt out of Rave?

Yes. You can follow these instructions to remove your cell phone number from MyCCRI. You can also stop delivery of all CCRI emergency text messages by texting the word ‘STOP’ to 67286 or 226787.

What if my cell phone provider changes?

If you keep the same number but change providers, you do not need to update anything.

How will I identify incoming messages from Rave Emergency Alerts?

We recommend that you add the Rave Emergency Alert numbers, 67286 and 226787 to your contacts. The alert will then display as sent from the college.
