Knights Track Runs Well at UMass-Boston Opener!

Warwick, R.I. – December 1, 2018: The men's & women's track teams traveled to Boston, MA to compete in the University of Massachusetts Boston Season Opener on Saturday. This was a non-scoring invitational but the CCRI athletes did put forth some excellent efforts in their first meet of the year.

For the Knights' men middle distance specialist Brandon Bun (Pawtucket, RI) led the way placing 21st in the 800m run in a time of 2 minutes 26.24 seconds. Sprinter Aaron Cedeno (North Providence, RI) placed 80th in the 60m dash in a time of 7.74. He later placed 112th in the 200m dash in a time of 25.36 seconds.

For the CCRI women at the meet Saramarie Cerullo (Smithfield, RI) led the way placing 26th in the 800m race in a time of 2:59.29. Cerullo returned to place 100th in the 200m dash in a time of 32.89 seconds. Diana Richard (Upton, MA) placed 103rd in the 200m event in a time of 35.69 seconds. Richard returned to place 82nd in the 60m dash in a time of 10.46 seconds.

Both teams will be back in action this Saturday December 8th at the Second Annual Rhode Island College Indoor Invitational at the Providence Career and Technical Academy beginning at 10:00am.
