Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council
Mission Statement
Our mission is to foster a community in which students, faculty, and staff are empowered to advocate for change and compassionate solutions. We endeavor to eliminate barriers and cultivate belonging through education and measurable actions to promote accountability and justice.
Who We Are
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council (DEIC) is made up of CCRI faculty and staff committed to creating a culture of belonging and inclusivity for all members of the CCRI Community. The Council meets once every month to share information, best practices, and develop programs and training sessions for each campus, to both celebrate our diverse identities that make up the institution as well as provide informative workshops to develop cultural competency for faculty, staff and students.
Our Approach
The members of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council serve as advocates for creating a culturally inclusive environment that promote and celebrate diversity at CCRI. Our members have the opportunity to share ideas, practices or programs to help cultivate a culture of belonging and ensure equitable outcomes across CCRI campuses.
In order to deliver programming and workshops that meets the unique needs of each CCRI campus, the DEIC will select up to two Campus Champions per campus to lead the efforts of executing activities at their respective campus. Campus Champions will promote our DEI commitment throughout the college and partner closely with the Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Organizational Development to deliver quality programs and training.
