Ludovici Qualifies for Nationals at Yale Meet!

Warwick, R.I. – July 16, 2016: The CCRI Track & Field teams traveled to Yale University on new Haven, CT to compete in the Yale Springtime Invitational. It was a non-scoring meet but there were many stellar CCRI efforts in their final meet before the NJCAA DIII Track & Field National Championships.

Leading the way for the Lady Knights' athletes was freshman Courtney Ludovici (Burrillville, RI) who qualified for NJCAA DIII Nationals in the Javelin with a season-best toss of 26.03m. Also performing well was sophomore Allison Lenox (North Kingstown, RI) who placed 4th in triple jump with 10.46m leap. Both Lenox and Ludovici returned to run 200m with Lenox finishing 21st in 28.00 seconds and Ludovici placing 27th in time of 31.43 seconds. Hurdler Victoria Anderson (Manville, RI) placed 6th in 400m hurdles in time of 1:17.29 and then placed 7th in 100m hurdles in the time of 17.75 seconds. Rounding out the Lady Knights' athletes was Saramarie Cerullo (Smithfield, RI) who placed 30th in 1,500m with a time of 6:08.95

For the Knights Ryan Pagliaro (Smithfield, RI) was their only competitor and he placed 16th in 1,500m with time of four minutes 30.88 seconds.

Lenox, Ludovici, Pagliaro, Anderson and Kelder Cardoso (Pawtucket, RI) will compete at The Division III NJCAA Track and Field Nationals at Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY May 10th-12th.

Head Coach Gregg Cornell commented after the meet: "Good ending to regular season and look forward to nationals."
