Knights Golf Starts 2018 Season With Solid Showing!

Warwick, R.I. – April 27, 2018: The CCRI Knights golf team partook in their first match of the 2018 season on Wednesday. The Knights traveled to Chicopee County Club in Chicopee, MA, home of the Holyoke Community College Cougars. CCRI had a team score of 365 in the exhibition match.

CCRI along with Holyoke and MassBay in tow took on the 6,000 yard, par 71 course in Western Massachusetts. The leader on the day was Kyle Richter of Holyoke who carded an impressive seven over, 78. Two strokes behind him was Tyler Boisclair (West Warwick, RI) with a nine over, 80.

Finishing second for the knights with a respectable 12+, 83 was Michael Occhi (Portsmouth, RI). Rounding out the squad for the Knights was Matthew Malo (Cranston, RI) who shot 99 and Colby Alfred (Cranston, RI) who carded 103.

Neither Holyoke nor MassBay fielded a full team on Wednesday but CCRI shooting a team 365 is a solid starting point for the competitions to come.

UP NEXT: The CCRI Knights golf team will travel to Swansea, MA, home of the Bristol Community College Bayhawks on Wednesday, May 2.
