The Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) today announced the launch of its new associate in arts in Community Planning and certificate in Community Planning, beginning in Fall 2026. These programs were developed in direct response to the statewide need for trained planning professionals to support Rhode Island's goals for increased housing production, sustainable development, and long-term community resilience.

CCRI announced today that it has earned the 2026-2027 Military Friendly Schools Designation, recognized as a Silver School. Institutions earning the Military Friendly Schools designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. Over 3,200 companies participated in the Military Friendly survey.

The Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) Foundation has officially announced the 2026 recipients of the Faculty Innovation Fund (FIF). Established in 2023, the FIF provides grants of up to $2,500 per project. These funds empower faculty to acquire cutting-edge resources, modernize curricula, and directly enhance student learning outcomes. This year's recipients represent a diverse cross-section of academic disciplines, each proposing solutions to modernize the student experience.
