Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.

Gain information about how oral health impacts the patient’s quality of life. Members of the healthcare team will learn of the physical and mental impact of cancer care on oral health-related quality of life, the challenges a person faces to achieving oral health, and resources available to healthcare professionals when working with clients and their families. During this enduring continuing education activity, nurses and healthcare workers will learn about advanced directives and increase their confidence in advance care planning. Advance directives and advance care planning are both important to ensure patients' healthcare wishes are honored. This educational activity will provide education about how to have conversations about advance care planning, complete advance directive forms, and provide care that aligns with the patient's wishes regarding illness and end-of-life care.
