English Language Studies (ELS)
ELS classes are available in levels 1 - 6 to give students an understanding of the basics of the English language.
The goal of the program is to help speakers of other languages achieve a level of English proficiency to function better in everyday living, enter a job training program, improve performance in current jobs, and/or pursue other goals.
ELS classes are offered at the Flanagan Campus and Davies Career & Technical High School in Lincoln (levels 1 - 6) and at the Liston Campus (levels 1 - 4). Advanced ELS students who are interested in job training or college classes may consider free classes in the CCRI Bridge program to develop pre-college academic skills.
The Division of Workforce Partnerships is pleased to announce the expansion of its English Language Studies program to the Newport campus beginning Summer 2019.
