The Information Technology Group is in the process of upgrading the email environment to a newer version. This upgrade will provide us with better archiving capabilities, increased functionality, and a more robust environment for email in general.
The transition is being done in phases. The first phase was done on January 11th. During this phase, some users experienced situation where their email accounts had to be reset on their mobile devices. This can be expected as there are such a variety of devices being used. The major difference with the upgrade is that the Single Signon to email from the portal will no longer work. Instead of the Single Signon to mail, you will be directed to a login for webmail. Please note that you can always get to your email directly by entering the following link in a browser window https://webmail.ccri.edu/owa it is not a requirement that you login to the portal to retrieve email.
The second phase of this process involves moving user accounts from the old mailbox database to the new one. This process will happen over the next few weeks at night and on the weekends. We will control this process by doing a department at a time. During the conversion, users may experience some issues. These issues should be limited to mobile devices. If you are using a mobile device, such as an iPad or smartphone, you may be required to delete and re-add your account. If you are using Webmail or Outlook to manage your email, you should see a seamless transition.
