Educational and Event Spaces refers to all environments where learning occurs. The Community College of Rhode Island consists of a combination of 270 classrooms, labs, electronic classrooms, video conference rooms, lecture halls and theaters.
Each space is outfitted with standardized presentation technology while many include advanced active learning tools, applications and media control devices to meet the various instructional needs of faculty. Room furnishings and arrangements may consist of standard arm-chair desks, movable tables and chairs, group tables and chairs, collaborative learning modules and lecture hall seating.
The Educational Spaces Committee is the governing body that collectively evaluates, provides research and suggests improvements to enhance the appearance, comfort and utility of all campus spaces related to learning.
