About the initiative

CCRI Reads

CCRI Reads! is a community-wide literary event hosted by the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council in partnership with the Center for Teaching Excellence to encourage literacy, inspire critical thinking, and unify the CCRI community in conversation regarding DEI and social justice issues. Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to participate.

Together, we will explore From Equity Talk to Equity Walk: Expanding Practitioner Knowledge for Racial Justice in Higher Education. Drawing from campus-based research projects sponsored by the Association of American Colleges & Universities and the Center for Urban Education at the University of Southern California, the authors offer advice on how to build an equity-minded campus culture, align strategic priorities and institutional missions to advance equity, understand equity-minded data analysis, develop campus strategies for making excellence inclusive, and move from a first-generation equity educator to an equity-minded practitioner. Central concepts and key points are illustrated through campus examples.

We hope that you will participate in CCRI Reads! and join one of the Book Discussions.  The book can be downloaded and read for FREE thanks to the CCRI Library.  Click here to access the e-book. Click here to register for a Book Discussion.
