What We Do

The Office of Institutional Equity encompasses multiple initiatives that build and strengthen an inclusive and diverse CCRI culture. OIE members work alongside faculty and other staff members during the hiring process, dialogue-based workshops, and educational sessions to educate members of the CCRI community are aware of policies related to equity and inclusion and equipped to cultivate a positive and inclusive work environment.

Policy

The college is dedicated to equitable treatment of students and employees and supports related institutional policies. OIE helps create and disseminate this policy information through our website, educational materials, and workshops.

Response

OIE responds to and manages allegations of harassment and discrimination that occur in the CCRI community. Click here for more information about this process.

College Culture

CCRI’s 2018-21 Strategic Plan includes a goal to “define and establish a CCRI culture that promotes transparency, respect, and accountability.” The OIE is working with an employee task force to envision a strengthened culture, and is actively engaging all employees in this process. Hiring Practices

OIE supports the goals established by the college’s Affirmative Action Plan and works with search chairs and search committees on hiring processes. OIE staff offer training, strategic guidance, and resources to support an equitable and performance-based search process.
