Winter Faculty Fair a Collaborative Success
As we celebrated the end of the fall semester, CCRI staff and faculty gathered for holiday cookies, hot chocolate and coffee at the inaugural e.co Winter Faculty Fair in the Knight Lower Commons. At this drop-in event, various CCRI functions and existing educational software vendors shared their expertise, resources and products with each other and faculty from a wide variety of departments including Computer Science, English, Mathematics and Human Services.
“The CCRI community came together and worked hard to organize the fair including physical plant, student services, IT, and the CCRI Bookstore. We believe that it is important to create an opportunity for faculty to learn about services available to themselves and their students, as well as connect with our educational software partners,” said Mish McIntyre.
The December 13th event was successful, creating the first opportunity for CCRI Student Services and existing educational software vendors to come together and share their expertise, resources and products with each other and faculty. Karen Bellnier and Mish McIntyre formed e.co for the purpose of designing faculty professional development with inclusive discourse, impactful innovation and collaboration.
“I am excited to see the success of the Winter Faculty Fair. Faculty are very busy people and this event provides a space for faculty to explore and find resources to fit their courses,” said Karen Bellnier. “It’s important to cultivate these opportunities for collaboration between faculty, staff and our external partners. e.co is focused on supporting community-centered transformation and fostering inclusive learning environments for faculty, staff and students. The Winter Faculty Fair was e.co’s culminating event for the fall semester. We look forward to hearing from faculty on other ways that e.co can contribute to faculty and student success.”
