Effective Practices in Teaching Online
A 4-week online course which investigates how pedagogy and classroom management changes in the online learning environment. Completing the course will meet part of the CCRI eligibility requirements for teaching online.
Learn to transform lectures to online formats.
Integrate guidelines, policies, and regulations into course (DLAC, CCRI, ADA, NECHE, etc.).
Apply learner engagement throughout the course through collaborative student interactions.
Analyze strategies for establishing a strong instructor presence and a positive, open learning environment.
Devise a plan for assessments and academic integrity.
Build content for clarity and accessibility.
Create a syllabus and schedule adapted for online modality.

Completion and Recognition
At the end of the course, faculty who complete the course in good standing will receive a Certificate in Effective Practices in Teaching Online. The course is a total of 36 hr. of work, which can be used for promotion.
Full-time and part-time faculty are eligible. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Sections are limited to 15 participants. This course is offered twice in Fall and Spring and once during the summer.
